Current owner of a 17' F-250 6.2L CCSB. Looking to downsize to a RCLB, and I'm considering whether to stick with the Super Duty series or go down to an F-150. I do not do a lot of towing, but I frequently use the the bed of the truck for heavy loads.
How does the Heavy Duty Payload Package on the F-150 affect ride quality? Is it close to or equal to a non-HDPP F-150? Does it ride more like a Super Duty? Something in between?
I don’t think anyone here has a regular cab HDPP. That package is very rare to begin with. There are a few members here with one, maybe one of them will comment.
Cant speak for a regular cab, but my crew cab with 6ft bed mx tow and HDPP does ride a bit rougher than most. If I bought better shocks than the stock pogo sticks it probably would ride better
I have a 2016 Sclb hdpp with load E tires@ 50 psi and timbrens. If the tires are at 70-80psi, it rides like a tank, but not bad at 50. I can honestly say, it rides nicer than my wife’s 2013 GMC Sierra 1500 Slt ccsb.
I had a 2011 F350 Sclb 6.2 4.30 before my F150, and I couldn’t stand driving that thing. I didn’t keep it very long because of the ride and the lack of power and mileage!!
