bed side molding question

I have a 79 f150 short bed. does anyone know if the molding is the same for both sides on the bed (mine is not race track) . carpenter shows 2 different part
numbers - I know numbersdummy hates that but its true. the door and fender molding is different side to side. but the bed side looks exactly
the same. they don't have markings on them to tell if there is a left or right. the others (door and fender) are marked L and R.

thanks

Why would I hate it?

Do the upper body side mouldings have black vinyl inserts?

If so, the fender, door, cab corner and bedside mouldings are right and left specific.

yes - has the black insert. so, how can you tell the difference. they aren't marked that we could find.
" why would you hate it " once before in a post where I referenced carpenter and their part numbers you commented that they
make up numbers.
Back to the molding - there are no marking on either piece to indicate left or right or at least not on the set that are on my truck.
problem is that the (replacement ) bed does not have the pins that hold the clips and we will have to drill into the bedside to mount them
truck came from the factory with molding so the mounting holes are already there, no problem.

thanks

I believe the difference between right and left is not the long molding but the end piece with the hole for the rear marker light. these are different. I assume you could swap that part out and interchange the long molding.

There is a difference as left and right are different part numbers.

You don't have to drill your bed & use rivets to mount the tabs, they sell a tool that welds the correct little stud onto sheet metal.
