The DPF gauge is not just the percentage of the actual filter restriction. Mileage and engine hours are included in the trucks programming. Your filter could be about “20%” full of particulate matter but your screen will say 100% and do a regen. The DPF screen is a “lie o meter” as well.
Most of the time I can’t get my dpf to 0% after a regen. I’m usually between 30-50% full.
Any stats out there that prove a decrease in dpf life by continuously only being able to clean the filter partially? Or is this of no concern?
I don’t have equipment like the Edge 2, but I have noticed as I have watched the DPF% drop during a regen, that it seems to stop around 20% when I am driving around 40 mph like in town driving, but it will go down to zero when I’m having a regen on the interstate traveling 70-75. Just what I have seen in my truck the last 6-8 k miles since I had the DPF% added via FORscan.
Is that because you dont have time to drive it down to 0%?.
sometimes I don’t have time to drive it down to 0%

Don’t have forscan. I’m a Mac owner. Last 2-3 times I have driven enough for a full regen but only able to get down to 20-20%
one time in particular, I was towing, knew truck was in regen, got down to 20% and wouldn’t go further. Once it hit 20% i drove for an additional 20 min and it didn’t budge.

I have been using Better Diesel FBC for several months. I just finished my first 16oz bottle of it. I did a forced regen yesterday as my DPF was at 100%, I went 523 miles between regens. Before I started using it I was in the mid 300's. My distance between regens started going up after a few tanks that were treated. I would say without a doubth this product works as described.
Mine gets to 0 if I drive it long enough. It goes in spurts. It will begin and once it starts dropping goes to 85 quickly but then takes a bit to move again. The next one is about 55%. From what I've seen is if it gets down to 30% or so and you slow down it will trigger the regen to stop, even if you just stopped at a light or to turn around or something and start driving again. The time between 30-0 takes a bit and it could be 15 and then just say 0 all of a sudden. I don't know how it actually works to determine it but it's not perfect by any means. That's just my experience.
