Brake controll module fault
I just bought a 2012 f250 that has a message in dash that there is a trailer brake module fault. I took it to my local hitch house that said it was the 7 pin plug but after I replaced that the fault message ius still there. Is it almost always that the module itself has to be replaced with this fault message? They tested the brake controll feature and said it worked.

I just replaced a Tekonsha aftermarket controller with the OEM in-dash controller with the Upfitter switch panel; I expected, and got,he same message. My model is an XL and did not come from the factory with the TBC and the master cylinder does not have the second, required brake pressure transducer. Once I get the master cylinder installed with the transducer (SU8540 on amazon.com), I expect the message will no longer appear.
