March 2020 Chat Thread

We made it past the extra day in February! This past week caught up with me and I fell asleep in my recliner last night at 8 pm. I slept for 11 hrs and I never ever sleep that long.
Still have a small oil leak coming for the passenger side valve cover on the Caddy, new gaskets on order. I also found the reason the airbag fault light is on and I have a new pigtail on order to fix that too. That should wrap up the last of the major repairs. I still plan on putting in new front shocks and new tires on before we go on vacation, but that can wait for a little while.

Got the dump truck running kinda. Drained the old gas which did not smell like varnish that was shocking. Fresh gas and it fired up. I think the governor is bad, it will not respond to throttle input. Pulled on wheel off to start the Dayton to Budd wheels . have to get new rotors and hubs. Since I have to replace the rotors I will go ahead and replace the pads , rebuild the calipers and replace the lines. The fuel sending unit is not working showing full with 8 gallons of gas. Have to flush power steering. looks like it will be up there a while longer.

Worked on cleaning up the yard. Put new pine straw the flower beds, mowed, weedeated, blowed some leaves. Just general clean up but it needed it.
New valve cover gaskets will arrive today and the pigtail to fix the airbag fault will be in on Wednesday.
The wife drove the Caddy into town for the first time yesterday and she loves it. She said it will be much better than the Suburban for road trips. Going to put new front shocks and tires on before we go on vacation.
This is the last week of winter hours. Next week we work till 6 and 730 to 4 on Saturdays.

OK I'm sick of the rain.
The connector to fix the airbag light will arrive today, glad to finally get that last fault light off. Valve cover gaskets came in yesterday but not messing with those till the weekend.

Drove the Caddy to work, 3/4 of the way here I get an engine hot warning light. The engine temp gauge still shows cold. Top hose is warm, the bottom hose is cold. The bottom hose is connected directly to the thermostat housing. I have the wiring harness end in to fix the airbag light, now it looks like I will be installing a thermostat too. Wife drove it yesterday and didn't have an issue.

No more airbag warning light!!! That was the last warning light that was on.
Still need to replace the valve cover gaskets and change out one spark plug and wire. The plug will be a lot easier when the valve cover is off.
Wiggled the wiring harness that goes to the temp sensor and the overheat light went out. I ordered an new sensor and connector for it.

I opened up to her a little bit. been chomping on the block to do it. She was appreciative and taken back I did it because she had no idea how hard this has been hurting me.

Its one thing to have money issues, its another to have future family issues, and not knowing if youll own the same home in a year issues.

She told me I could get her a cheap ring so I could put her on the bills to help me out, and I appreciate it but I dont want to marry someone for financial gains. I have to make this work in the next month.

Had paint issues on a truck. Had to call my rep and they sent out some fresh new **** for me. SO maybe I will get a project done and out of the garage to finish the other.

Had a review at work, and im getting a raise but not was I was hoping for. So i guess im entertaining the phone calls from recruiters to see what they could offer.

I hate to do it though. But I will be going back to my bosses, since I am a mechanic, and a specialized person employed since I do paint machine made by the company and by other companies. Saving the company thousands per call out.

I just cant catch a break though. House appraised for lower than what we wanted with lender. Even with upgrades and 15k in windows. All because of a discounted sale on the comps.
So now closing wants like 15k to close. inlcuding a clause to pay off my matco box. I paid the taxes I owed due to escrow screw up, and mortgage company is like that dont change ****.
Crooked crooked ****.

Jacob step back a take a deep breath. One thing you will learn is that "fun " project have to take a back seat to family and primary stuff such as house. Does not sound like she want to be your partner in all this hence the cheap ring comment. That one of the hardest things to do is let someone help you. Dont hide stuff from her let her help. As far your job dont chase money you will never be happy. For rings try this website.wedding rings.

You need to ask God for his help . I will be praying for you.

No rain today yea can get stuff done outside. Saw my ortho dr for follow up on knee if fine asked him to look at shoulder it bruised muscle. He said it could take months to heal. Leaving the house to go to the appointment Debra slipped and fell down the steps.
We got the call from the tailor yesterday most of the alterations are done except for final length. We went over and he did the final measurement. The material he cut off was laying on the bench, I picked it up and jokingly put it on her head as a veil. He loved the idea and she did also. Just about everything is done . Got to pick up the cake Friday.

Got to go pick up the old 250 from the guy that bought the motor. The guy that bought the truck his dad lives down the road from me so wull drop it off on the way home.

Mortgage companies are a rip off.
Drove the wifes Hummer into work today to change out the 02 sensor.
Went ahead and ordered a new water pump and both belts for the caddy last night. Might as well do it all at one time and get it knocked out.

The GM's dad was admitted to the hospital on Thursday and this was supposed to be my weekend off but I will end up going into work. Have to work next weekend too because the parts guy doesn't know how to open or close jobs.
