Body Mounts Question

I was informed that the Body Mounts under my cab were bad and needs to be changed. I have a 2008 F450 6.4 Crewcab 4wd. Vin # is 1FTXW43R28EB29953. I was also told to gat ahead and get Ford OEM parts. I am lost I can't find the Ford part numbers I need to change all the ones under the Cab only. When I went to Truck place they had me order The Daystar KF04060BK. Once I got home a looked at this kit it is for the F350. I can't find a Complete kit for my truck. Entergy Brand I was told to stay away from them that cause noises. Can someone help me find the Ford OEM part numbers? Or did they sell me the right now? I know dorman makes some. but they say for Position 2, 3,4 I don't know what this means. or how many I need. I am so Lost.

I seen them I just didnt want to spend 700.00 on them. If I got some that would last 12 years like the oem did. But cheaper I would like that. How many are needed. Dorman has some and they are position 2,3, and 4. I dont know what that means. I need to know what to by and not spend alot. I just spent alot. I need to.save money.

From personal experience I can tell you that Daystars will make the creaking/popping noises that you were told the Energy Solutions would make. Problem with Daystar is that they are not the same diameter as OEM mounts. They are smaller and have a tendency to move in the cups they are mounted in and also made of polyurethane which are more firm than OEM rubber/sponge material, resulting in a more noisy ride. That being said, my problem with using OEM replacements is that being the same material as what you have now, you may be doing this again in a few years. Doesn't sound wise to me. I used the Daystars before I had heard of the issues with noise and vibration coming into the cab. I also can't say which way I would have gone had I known this going into it. As a side note, after replacing the mounts, I changed my shocks which were way overdue anyway and the ride is considerably better.

My truck is '12 F250 FX4 Crewcab which like your F450 CC, will have 8 mounts total, 4 on each frame rail. Position 1 is under the radiator, position 2 is under front floorboard, position 3 is under rear floorboard and position 4 is under rear seat, and this is on each side of the truck. I'm not sure on '08 model if you can access bolt heads from under the truck or from inside cab. This is a tedious and time consuming job but can be done. Check out YouTube videos for a better idea of the job.....but just know that a shop will charge a lot to do the job.

What about Dorman brand.

What about dorman brand. Also my OEM lasted 12 years. I would not have the truck in 12 more years. I just dont want to spend 700.00. So how many of each position do I need? 3 of each? They told me.only the cab ones we bad.

I installed the S&B kit on my 2010 recently, and I promise, it’s worth the coin. Much better material than OEM

My write up on the install is Here

Most likely you #3’s are good (numbered front to back 1-4 on CC). The #3s are a different material OEM than the other positions for some reason. I would suspect the other 6 need replaced. In the S&B kit, all 8 cups & bushings are identical, so I dont see why you couldn’t order 6 #3 position units from Dorman, look on Rockauto.com, and it work. My understanding is that those are the better material ones, and is cheaper than the S&B kit, if you don’t want to spend that much $$.

I’m not 100% on my theory about the Dorman #3 mounts, but I believe it would work. You might could get your hands on them at a local parts house, get a #3 and any other position and see how they compare.

Man, you got 12 years out of them? Best I got was 7 years on 2 different F250s. . The bed is mounted straight to the frame so there are no bushings there. I agree with seemoremud on the Dormans but I'm not sure of the cost of them. My #3's looked brand new so I left them alone.

The thing is that they should all be changed at the same time because you have to remove 4 bolts on one side and loosen the 4 on the other side to jack up the cab to change them. And then do the same thing on the other side. And believe me, you only want to do this once!

My mounts are shot as well but my #3's as stated above look good. Any idea of the part number for these? Been doing alot of research per a video from powerstrokehelp.com they said that the #3's will fit any location so i was going to order 4 of those but i cant find the part numbers anywhere Dorman or OEM only the crap yellow ones. They stated trucks 99-03 04ish used the #3's all around i looked up the part numbers for those and it seems the bolt lengths are different for the different locations position . Then the question is if the #3's will fit any location why are there 2 different yellow ones (location 2) and location (3or4). As far as i can tell there is no #3 replacement(black) only the yellow (position3 or 4). If anyone has any more experience on this it would solve alot of issues with the aftermarket mounts that everyone hates being too small, stiff or make noise and would eliminate us buying the oem yellow but then have to replace 5yrs down the road. Im all for if anyone has info on how to get ahold of the #3's behind the front seats that seem to never wear out and put these at positions 2,3,4 both sides. My truck is an 05. You mentioned DORMAN924320 {#7C3Z1000154A, 7C3Z1000155B} seems like it might work on an 08+ truck? The #3's i was looking at were DORMAN924333 {#2C3Z1000154KA, 2C3Z1000155GA} bolt length 4.559in and the other DORMAN924345{#F81Z1000154CA, F81Z1000155BA, YC3Z1000154JA} but bolt length 4.02in seems short. OEM doesn't specify bolt length so i cant compare. I read your write up and see you went with the S&B kit any feedback on that product? I would love to find the best alternative vs going the $750 route.
