I have a 2017 F250 Lariat super crew short bed 6.7L. I am lookin* to install a cb radio and antenna. I am interested in any pics of installs. Location of radio and antenna. I would like the antenna to be a quick disconnect or something as I take my truck through a car wash a few times a week to keep it shiny and pretty.

thanks in advance
There have been a few other threads on this subject. A search might be able to locate the threads. Search function is goofy tho.
I remember seeing people using the aftermarket steel bracket that goes on or between the 3rd high mount brake light & the cab roof.
Other locations were some kind of steel mounting plates inside the bed.
The aluminum bodies are great for everything except magnetic antennas and magnetic signs. 1st world problems. Hahaha.
Hopefully someone chimes in for you or you can find the other threads.
For the antenna mount, I recommend a hood mount that is custom designed for the truck. Here is an example. I got one of these for my 2005 F-150. Fits so much nicer than universal mounts.
For the coax, get a Fire stick MU-8R9 or MU-8R18. These things are great. The coax PL-259 connection on the radio side is huge and this cable has a mini adaptor. This makes it so much easier to pass the cable through the firewall or other grommet.
For the CB mount ... I can’t help you there. I have a Cobra 29 LX sitting in my closet. I think it’s going to stay there as it just doesn’t fit in the cab of my F-350.
Not sure where you are located but you might visit your local HAM radio store and see what they can do for you. I have an Icom radio and a scanner installed in the 02 and my mounts are located on the top of the rear doors and the antennas can be removed and capped when not in use.
Builtright industries has a bracket that mounts up on center of dash. It looks nice but not sure if you want your radio up there or not.
not many choices in these big trucks.
On my former 2011 F150 and my current 2016 Explorer, I mounted my cb to the left of the steering wheel on the panel beneath the headlight switch. I haven't had any issues with my knee hitting it. On the 150 I used a stake pocket mount and a 3ft firestik. I ran the coax thru the rear cab vent. Just make sure you Putin a drip loop so water doesn't run into the cab.
No pics, but......I installed a Cobra 75 WX ST, all controls are located in the microphone / head assembly. I mounted the control box under the passenger seat (antenna and power connection), Accessed power using a fuse tap from the right side fuse panel. Microphone hanger is a dummy plug, with mic clip that plugs into the cigarette lighter. I have a tri-fold aluminum tonneau cover. I mounted a 3/16 X 5" steel disc (using nutserts) to one of the panels and use a Wilson 500 mag mount antenna. Co-ax runs through the passenger side door. When not in use, pop off the antenna, throw microphone under the front seat, or into the console. Easily concealed when not in use. SWR is 1.4 on both channels 1 and 40.
I have the Builtright but didn't want to stare at the CB up on the dash. I mounted a President Bill below the push button start. There is plenty of room for the 4.1" wide CB. I bought a 25' coax and mounted a 5' Firestick to a homemade "T" I put into a front receiver. The mount sticks out just a few inches but is just right for a step so I added a piece of stainless steel to the top to save the bed liner paint I used for the angle iron. I mounted a 15" sealed amber LED light to the front below the footstep. I am happy with the radio and the antenna. This 40 channel radio is very small and can be mounted in several places. I found this spot to my liking. I made a T shaped mount that fits into my front receiver. To dress it up a bit I added the stainless foot guard so the black bedliner paint stays in good shape and an extra clearance / marker light below it.
Just a heads up, I had major problems with a CB install on my 18 6.2. I had a Pedal Commander that did not get along with the CB. Every time I pressed transmit the engine would rev up and it would throw traction control errors. I ended up giving the Pedal Commander to a neighbor.
