With all this discussion, I think I'll move mine to the solenoid tomorrow. I'll post up the new voltage readings also. I interested in whether or not they'll change.
Take measurements of voltage at the solenoid and interior fuse block with a moderate load before moving it. Then do the same after moving the yellow wire. You should see a difference for sure. The difference will be very evident in the headlights if you haven't done a relay mod and the fan blower speed.
Can't hurt, right? Especially when you're motivated to get it done!
But your numbers at the battery at least, certainly indicate that yours is charging properly. The 12.6v OFF and the 14.6v running are right in the sweet spot.
Especially good when those numbers are maintained steadily with other accessories running.
