c6 kickdown adjustment

ok guys i checked the archives and have found nothing about installing the kickdown linkage on a c6\460 setup. it has a single tube type linkage apparently with no adjustment. mine was removed by the po. what i need to know is if this linkage has a critical point where you can damage your tranny or do you just hookup to the tranny lever and the the throttle and your done. also is what cause the downshift...... the tranny lever going down or up?

IIRC, opening the throttle causes the tube to be pushed back and down. If you leave it disconnected, you won't get pedal-forced downshifts, like at WOT. I've always remembered to hook it up, though I did forget to hook up intake manifold vac down to the modulator, what a racket it made at idle! I thought I screwed something up big time and I'd have to pull the trans again!
