Does anybody know if a list exists that shows where diesel stations are located in verious cities? I'm close to finally getting an '04 w/ a PSD and have started noticing that the diesel pumps are rather far between.
I have owned a diesel for over 5yrs and have never had a problem getting fuel. Now as for price variations, whoy boy! Going across the country you will see a difference of as much as a dollar. Currently here in N.E. Ohio it's $1.46. You don't need to be concerned about enough stations. Just try to obtain fuel if you can at stations that sell enough diesel so they always have fresh fuel, truck stops if you have them nearby. Enjoy the new truck!
Wow,
Texas has something SMALEER ?!?!
I paid $1.31 yesterday at the local Fina...
And @ 44 gal per fillup - you do have a tendency to watch for the low price and fillup when you see it !
One thing you'll easily spot is if there are 4 prices on their price signs... or two hoses on one pump is a give away... but if you have cash - the truck stops are the way to go...
Those high volume pumps and HIG turnover for the fuel is best...
Get it and enjoy it...
I think this diesel excursion has RUINED me for any other cars !
My wifes NICE '02 Lincoln LS V8 gets poorer mpg than the Ex !
Of course it is drvien a LITTLE bit different than the Ex is
How do you like your remote start? I bought my truck today and when I brought up remote start they didn't seem to know much about them. They told me they could get an aftermarket shop to install one for me.
I would prefer to use a Ford product. Did you get yours from a dealer. Did you install it yourself and if so was it difficult?
Not a problem...
I REALLY like the remote - it was part of the package deal @ purchase time...
Having just gotten the '03 as a replacement for my '02, I didn't want ANYTHING aftermarket!
Not that I have any issues with aftermarket, but if I had issues with the Ex I didn't want to give anyone the opportunity to say "It was because of this... or this..."
For the same reason, I had it installed at the dealer for $450 or $495 ?
Some aftermarkets may be better - with more features, but I really like a remote start and will probably get one on any future vehicle
Call around and check on the internet...
Do some feature and comparison shopping and have fun with it !

King Ranch -
Do you have a link for this by chance? I found the web site for the products but didn't find any refrence to Gas Stations or Diesel Stops.
I bought the software so I download all the info off of their website. I do alot of traveling so I use the mapping software to load into my gps. I'm not sure if you can get just the list I plot where I'm going and it tells me where every diesel stop is along that route.
Living in Texas you shouldn't have any problems finding diesel fuel. Check the web sites of the big stations, they usually have locations of their stations. Sometime they even list if they sale diesel.
Travel centers of America is one of the best I've found. But their station are usually located off major highways out side of town. Some regular gas stations sale diesel too, look for those green nozzles.
Trouble is, as an example, I drive 24 miles one way to work. I pass 18 gas stations in the process. 3 have diesel. Most of my milage is in town so these are not posing themselves as good odds.
