Spot light option

I have an early Ford cop type spot light, the type that mounts in the A pillar and swivels and pivots and such. I saw a picture of a slick with one mounted but it wasn't clear exactly where it mounted and I lost the picture location.
I am wondering if a spotlight was a factory option, a dealer option, or if I just spotted a custom. If it was offered by Ford I would like to know exactly where it went through and any pics. If not offered, I would appreciate thoughts and opinions. Thanks, TK65

I have a 12 volt bulb for it.

Right and left spotlights were a dealer installed accessory, both are still available from unityusa.com

As I understand it they were a dealership option, installed by the dealership for the customer. I’ve got one on my 61, mounted on the left side. I’ll try to get a picture for ya. Actually, I’ve got two. I picked up a complete assembly for 14 bucks at my favorite consignment / antique shop.

Edit: yup, like Bill said.

You can get the outside mounting bracket from Unity spotlights for about 100 dollars, Comes with the template to tape to the cowl to drill the mounting holes. You can also get the complete set up from them. Don't know price as all I needed was the mount. Cheaper new than to get it rechromed

Thanks Bill. Good to see you back. Always Jimmy On the Spot with pertinent information.
P51, Thanks for the pics. I was thinking it went through the hole above the key, while my coworker insisted it went through the A-pillar

but that seemed like it would be a bad idea, structurally. Nice badging BTW!
Skidoorulz, Nice pics, nice slick! Got a question. Obviously a Customcab, I see you have the round speedo like mine and the panel below there with the CustomCab script. All original? 66? Where is mine on my 65 CC.
Oh, as far as the chrome goes, it matches my patina.

Mine is a 64 Custom Cab. Notice the difference in the steering column mount. I believe a 65 and 66 CC used an entirely different speedo for the CC. Standard cab used a round speedo with a white bezel. The mounting bracket on your spotlight is not the correct bracket for 61 to 66 cabs. Yours is for an earlier model possibly around 56 or so.
