Looking to buy a set of 295-65-20 for my F350 and I'm torn between BFG KO2 or Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Can anyone give me some pros and cons to either of these two tires?
I rotated and balanced them at like 10k miles and they were starting to get a little choppy up front. Put them in the back obviously, will need to do a few burnouts.
I have the cooper at3 xlt. 285/65r20. Quiet on road and way better in snow and mud than michelin ltx at2 that came stock and looks good, just a touch less aggressive than ridge grappler. My 2nd choice was the ridge grappler. Similar road noise (quiet) but no mileage warrenty and trial period that I saw. I heard the hd version bfg ko2 tire doesnt have the snow flake rating and the snowflake rated ones wear quicker than the ridge grappler Ive seen in my research. I wish the cooper came in a 295/65. I should have done 35x12.5. 285/65 is a little small but it behaves just like stock on road so that's good. I'd vote bfg for people that live where it snows more, ridge grappler everywhere else. And give the discoverer at3 xlt a look.
My RG's were installed at the dealership when it came off the transport. It's a 17' with 48K miles and I'm not even considering new tires yet. There's a little hum on the highway for daily driving and when I've had to drive in the snow it's hands down the best tire I've ever had. I don't tow at all but don't see why I won't get 60k + miles out of these.
