Easy between those two Ridge Grapplers all day.

I see lots of recommendations for the RGs. My truck has TGs on it. Thoughts comparing the two in 20in sizes?

RG will last longer really depends on how aggressive of a tire you want or need about 35 is all I would get out of the TG to me thats not bad for a mud tire. The RG I had I sold the truck before I needed tires but the way they was wearing I would guess easily over 40,000.

Ive also been looking at the Yokahama X/ATs. They look a lot like a BFG A few guys are running them. Good initial reviews but none long term or even in snow so far.

I heard the hd version bfg ko2 tire doesnt have the snow flake rating and the snowflake rated ones wear quicker than the ridge grappler Ive seen in my research. I wish the cooper came in a 295/65. I should have done 35x12.5. 285/65 is a little small but it behaves just like stock on road so that's good. I'd vote bfg for people that live where it snows more, ridge grappler everywhere else. And give the discoverer at3 xlt a look.
Sweet looking truck!

Had both but in different sizes.

If you are on the highway get the RG. If you are off the highway I wouldnt expect the RG to do much more than an AT.

I grew up on BFG's. Grandpa, dad and I had them on all trucks for years. I agree with the decline in quality and increase in price. Don't seem to get the mileage they used to get. I currently have a 2017 CCLB 4x4 diesel with 37" RG's with 30k+ miles on them and not even half worn. I expect that I will get 65k miles before I have to replace them. Great performance in snow and mud. They clean themselves out great. I keep them aired down a bit to keep them wearing even. But road noise is minimal. I wouldn't even think they are louder than a BFG.

Excuse my ignorance but are my factory Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure with Kevlar really that bad? I've almost always replaced my tires with OEM but I haven't seen anyone mention the Wrangler. I'm not off road often and when I am any AT will do the job and maybe 20% of my driving is with a large bumper pull trailer.

Nitto RG all day I have 37x12x18s on my 2019 CCLB

They were actually 500$ cheaper for the set of 4 compared to the BFG KO2s

But that is up here in Canada

Nah, they’re not bad. Just OEM. I put around 50k miles on my Ford-issued GY’s. They were very quiet and wore well. But they are not what I would consider an A/T. I too have the Ridge Grapplers and have been very happy with them - they are wearing like iron right now. 18k on them and they show no sign of the miles.

Anytime Nitto's are an option, go with them. Here are my 295/65/20 Trail Grapplers with 20,000 miles on them.

Ive had BFGs on three vehicles and I currently have them on a old school 4x4 Suburban I still kick around in.

They are great tires and wear well but I will warn you that they have very stiff sidewallls and if you go from BFGs to, say, some nice Michellins, you'll feel the difference.

Had them on my F150 and didnt care for them.

But if you arent looking to mod your truck just keep them. Nothing wrong with them for your use.
