Yes!! Love reading about these stories. A note about those O-rings..... do them sooner than later. They can get bad enough to use a gallon of oil in 20 miles, leaving you stranded unless you have gallons of oil with you. Ask me how I know this
Congrats on getting motoring though! It's a good feeling isn't it?
The Dorman VC gaskets with integrated UVCH work fine, but definitely lower quality than Ford, Int’l and Alliant branded products.
That said, I’ve replaced a lot of failed ‘good ones’ with Dorman and only replaced Dormans (free, lifetime warranty) because I noticed the insulation failing or something when I was under VC for something else.
Dorman also cone with engine harness side pigtails, which we seldom need, but are super handy for ohming out injectors and GP’s through the VC’s.
on edit: pay attention to wire routing. Don’t let UVCH wires get pinched under VC gasket or chaffed by push rods.
there would have been pinchhed wires had they not been noticed before re-installing gasket covers.

Just arrived to our beach campsite and the first thing I did was check this thread.
Looks like things are progressing nicely. Keep us informed!
Once this is all done with, the methods and tests you guys used to find the faults would be good to add to the original thread.
We did a fuel pressure test with a rig Ajbrown208 made to connect to drain port. Tried a known cps. With good readings from his scanner we knew oil pressure and rpm and voltages were good. Determined it was not fuel related, so started checking continuity at the gasket connections. Found drivers side open circuit on all injectors. Removed everything in the way and pulled valve cover. Found loose inside plug, determined to replace gasket anyway to avoid future repeat of problem. Did the job, put it all back together, she fired right up. Did not do passenger side, as I will be taking it all apart in the next few weeks to do the injector o-rings and cups, discovered by finding oil in coolant tank, which looks like a dirty white-ish sludge on top of coolant. Ajbrown has more details, I am sure, as I was just a spectator for most of the diagnostics.
On valve cover reinstall I noticed a red wire running through one of the bolt holes. We took the cover back off and there were several wires that would have been pinched. That was my bad. Routed all wires lower than valve cover gasket and put it all back together. This truck has not ran in over two months. It fired up the first try. It is also ABSOLUETLY the smoothest idling 7.3 diesel engine I have ever been around. EVER. Posting pictures and reports tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone. Good Night.
I was right there with you 'till I saw the photos of a child and those assault guns disguised with dead tree carcass furniture.
I had nothing productive to add since you solved it so just having fun. Glad it's solved and you had time to get in some fun. Diesel exhaust and gun powder....add a two stroke on race gas and castor oil and it would be heaven.
