You guys really need to stop encouraging me to buy more things thanks for the part number, going to go look for it now, and return the FL-1995 filter I bought
All three of the big parts stores have rewards programs of some sort. About once every six months I get 20-25% off purchases offers from them or one of them. Sign up for their programs and just delete the advertisement emails if they won't save you money.

Shop smart on your time and save...
I do, but I started this project planing for it to take maybe 10 minutes or so.....yea going to be going on for a few days....
There is no way a shop changed the oil and only put 2 gallons in, you wouldn't make it out of the parking lot, before the truck would quit. And for the record 1 gallon = 4 quarts.

well if that is the case then that raises the question of , if they used my 1 of the 2 gallons I provided, handed 1 of those back unused what else did they F**ing put in? I mean I gave them 2 gallon jugs so both should have been used I thought.......I hope they didn't put something different in......
Lesson to be learned - Change your own oil if you want it done right! Good service is not available from "Quick Change" outfits, and rarely from "Stealerships" or even by recommended by friends or internet "Service Pros"!
I hesitate to mention that any really competent repair "Techs" are even harder to find. I do all maintenance and repairs myself if I can, and hope and pray I can find find a real "GearHead" if I can't do it myself!
Have you thought about calling them and asking? Although I can only imagine the response and dead air on the other end ...
U needed 15 quarts going in so I’m sure they may have been confused when you handed them two gallons as well. Obviously they should’ve noticed and said something. But unfortunately “you ain’t working with the cream of the crop”.
either way what’s done is done and you just need to get whatever’s in there out. I would probably run a short cycle of Dino if you normally run synthetic to make sure you get it cleaned out. Because you’re right there’s no telling what’s in there. I would hope they put a compatible oil but not noticing that it’s that much different and particularly did they not charge you for a certain amount of oil on top of it. Do you have your receipt?
I learned this lesson a long time ago and now have a Fumoto drain valve on each if my vehicles. I also have a K&N oil filter with a 1" nut welded to the end on each of my vehicles.
We change our own oil, even when on the road we change our own oil. On a 10,000 mile trip, we change our own oil. Sometimes at friends or relatives house. Sometimes at the parking lot of a parts store. Sometimes at a campground. Sometimes at a rest stop.
All we need is oil, funnel, used oil container and a 1" wrench.
The truck and whatever chase car we have always has good oil in it and I know what kind it is and how much.

Yea, after doing the first Oil change my self on my Jeep which has one of the Fumoto valves I relied this is one of those, why the Fdidn't I do this valve sooner....type thing.
I something similar to that oil filter wrench, Sous, but mine is a lacking type wrench (think Channellock) and it is definitely my go-to solution for difficult oil filters. In fact, I just use it exclusively just in case the filter is more difficult than I anticipate (one less trip back and forth from under the truck to the tool box.
i like that!
ive has good success with this as well
Im going to be picking one of those channel locks up also, just to make sure, as I haven't changed oil my self on the truck in over a year removal of the oil filter is still righty tighty, lefty loosie, and that is looking at the @$$ of the filter with my face pointed to the sky?
... snipped ... removal of the oil filter is still righty tighty, lefty loosie, and that is looking at the @$$ of the filter with my face pointed to the sky?
... snipped ... Do y’all just let oil run down your arm and all over filter, etc???????
Nope. I just punch a small drain hole into the used oil filter using a screwdriver or awl and then let it drain into the oil drain pan. Once emptied, I then remove the used oil filter. Eezy peezy.
