It's an Excel made by the now defunct Peterson, Ind in Smith Center, Ks. It has a 17,500 GVWR, a fully boxed house built frame, all wood framing and custom full length fiberglass cladding (no seams). The original tires were 17.5" J rated Michelin's. I've since gone to H rated as the J's were overkill. It was approved for full time use and they had a 10 below zero guarantee for the water lines and tanks not to freeze, as long as the heater is running of course. It's our 3rd one and they were notably heavy but it is because they were well built. So, yes it does weigh what I said. I've had it weighed with the 3 different trucks we've pulled it with and the weights have been consistent. In 8 seasons of use and 65K miles we've needed one slide adjustment. I wish they still made them because we would have another.
Our last 2 trucks have been duals because none of the single rear wheel diesels in the upper end models had enough payload capacity to carry our 3800 plus pounds that we put on it. The new 2020 has plenty of capacity.
I stand corrected. Sounds like a very high quality trailer, now I want one!

We've been thinking about getting something lighter and were on the verge of listing it for sale when the shut down hit. Now we are thinking we need to wait until next year. I know we won't find anything like it in our price range but we're getting older and our travels are getting shorter and less frequent. It has been all over the western part of the US numerous times, to Canada, the northeast for a foliage tour and almost to Mexico. It has always been kept inside our rv garage so it still shines like new. It has the MorRyde Independent Suspension which is a torsion suspension and weighs quite a bit more than a standard axle set. The Splendide washer/dryer and the Winegard Trav'ler automatic satellite dish also add some weight.
Keep your Winslow. You will not find anything as good made today. That is an excellent trailer. I have an older Alpenlite, great in its day but not near as weather resistant as your Winslow. You can keep that going for years to come. And you'd be disappointed with anything you got new. My trailer weighs 16000 and my 2019 SRW 350 does pretty good with it, but I'm sure that new ten speed and motor would be even better.
Just going from a DRW to a SRW in the same config is a HUGE difference. Those extra wheels eat up a lot of HP/Torque lost ! It also hit the mpg pretty bad
