Ford factory alternators generally start to fail at 130-150k miles, in my experience anyway.

Very frustrating my truck has 237000 and counting runs great though but its more like a car I rarely if ever tow with it the bed it full of crap all the time lol....the guy at Oriellys was super nice he said man our rebuilds do not impress me we are getting returns all day long....his personal vehicle took 4 alternators to get one that worked "good enough" .....he said when they have time they test the starters and find half are bad before they even make it to the shelf....hey at least the guy is honest.....for 50.00 shipped I would definitely buy one to keep as a backup in your truck.....you guys on here saved my **** big time....the parts store is 45 minutes one way so that alone takes its toll....thank you guys and God Bless
