Hey all,
Just bought my first Ford Diesel (been a fan for a long time so pretty pumped). 05 F250 6.0 with 170K original miles. Single cab regular box (6ft). I paid $4700. Does seem to have some electrical issues (horn is out, no cruise control, missing low beam fuse). Just seeing if I got screwed or if I pulled off an alright deal. I don't have pictures.
Sorry, yeah 4wd, XL, Rust is about normal Iowa rust. The sketchy dealer put fender flares on and tried to paint over a lot of the rust. Under the fenders looks like your typical old ranch pickup and is pretty rusty. Big dent in the front of the bed by the cab that they covered with a toolbox. Big tear in the driver seat but nothing a nice seat cover won't fix. It's not a show quality pickup for sure. Will be a future ranch pickup and pull cattle trailers.
I'm in Eastern Iowa and bought my 2012 in November so was looking at adds fairly recently in at least your region. To me that sounds like around an average deal I don't think you stole it but I don't think you got screwed especially from a dealer. That seems like an interesting configuration for sure with the regular cab and the short bed with 4WD and diesel. Should be a fairly compact tow rig. I would check out the spring hangers and core support and make sure they are not rusted out.
