Quick question I removed and clean my old tank. I have new hoses and sending unit on board. I was able to get the tank up but the straps are difficult to reattached. I placed to newpadded material between tank and straps , and the tank seem to seat well. I can attach the straps on the front end , but on the back end there is a gap between the frame and strap. Im not sure if its the padding or what everything seems to line up and when I push the tank up there is next to no play on the front end , a little i can push up in the back . Any ideas.

I have no problem getting tank up, the back side of the strap i cant get close enough to thread. Maybe just need to be more forceful. Only thing i can think is the padding material isn't compressed enough and causing it to gap
I thought the same when putting mine in, but it went in further. Make sure the filler neck is positioned correctly and not getting hung up. I used two floor jack with wood. One to hold it in a good general spot and one to push up on the side I was working on. I got them just to the spot where I could thread the front and rear on both sides, then tightened them down. They pop into place there when you think you are almost done.
Check the upper straps. On the rear there is a groove/notch they ride in. On the front there is an adjustment nut. We had to play with ours a little to get our new tank just right .

Have to agree. When I redid mine, It wasnt meeting up either, until I pushed the tank closer toward the front of the truck. Then the strap positioned enough to get the bolt in.
