Power steering woes

I had replaced my power steering pump a couple of months ago and put a new Teflon o ring on the hose at that time. The seal was installed wrong and leaked. Fast forward to this past week, decided to not mess with screwing up the seal bought a whole hose assembly with the seal installed and that also leaks after installation. Has anyone ever tried replacing the stupid Teflon o ring on the power steering pressure hose with a regular rubber o ring? Or have any tips?

You might want to ask this in the general Superduty (1999-2016) forum, if you don't get any good answers here in the V10 forum.

I wouldn't do rubber. I'd check where the seal seats and see if there is junk in there.

. . . and yes also what Krewat said ^^^^^^^ , the "1999 to 2016 Super Duty" forum will get more responses on this issue.

I had a really hard time with that when I redid my power steering. I remember having to continue getting a new hose when I kept messing up the seal. I found I was over-torqueing it and chewing up the seal. Once I was more gentle with it, I got it with just the right torque. I think I was able to return the hoses as "defective" for leaking.
