Has anybody replaced radius arm bushings on a 2WD? It looks like I could use my ball joint press but I want to make sure before I start. I've found surprisingly little documentation for this.
I know it's been a couple years ago for this post. Did you ever figure out how to do this? I'm needing to do this on my 2004 F350 crew cab 2wd dually. Do those bushings have to be pressed in and out? I can't find any information anywhere on this. Not even videos. How do I replace those radius arm bushings?
I haven't done the radius arms, but I did replace the drivers side I-beam bushing where it mounts to the frame around the oil pan. There is a kit made such that you remove the inner rubber bushing and bolt sleeve...I drilled and ground it out...and leave the outer steel shell. The new bushing inserts into the original outside steel shell. Doing it this way there's no need for a press to get the old one out and new one in. It was polyurethane from what I remember as there was a choice between red or black material. This was several years ago on the wife's 2wd Excursion and it's held up fine. I can't remember if I bought it locally or off Ebay.
