Been thinking about swapping in a C6 instead of the current NP435. I've been looking at one and according to the tag, PGB-AC3 it would have been out of 1970 F100-350. It's also set up for the 2 piece driveshaft with the u-joint tail shaft.
The question however is that the speedometer cable connection is on the passenger side of the trans but looking at cables available they appear to not be any longer than the current NP one and I don't see how that length would ever make it.
As I have not seen others located on the passenger's side any insight would be appreciated.

Why not get the speedo cable for the vehicle that the C6 came out of?
Got it from an older gentleman who has acquired many things over the years he is not quite sure where it came from. But as I said it does have its tag still on it saying its a 70. It's that right side input that has me confused.

It has been several years since I did one and my Forgetter is in overdrive, but I don't recall having to swap the cable when I went from 3 on the tree to a C6.
The MX Cruise-O-Matic that came in some of the 1965/66 trucks also had the speedo connection on the passengers side. Cable was 93.6" long. I believe that was the longest cable used in the 100/250/350 series of trucks. Only some of the big trucks had longer cables.

The longer foam rubber was used where the cable passed through the firewall. Sealed the hole some and kept the cable from chaffing as bad.
Looking on O'Reilly's website for instance, they state the 65' cable and the 70' cable are both 83 inches. I realize that these are likely generic cables and I won't be able to tell until it's actually installed.
I do appreciate the confirmation that this tail shaft actually existed in the trucks so I should be able to come up with something.
