Travelling

Hi I am in Quartzsite when my e350 just up and quit no power at all. Turn the key on and nothing. Good battery 12.7. Absolutely nothing. Checked all fuses under the dash all good. Has anyone a clue to what has happened as I would like to try and fix this myself. Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated. Thanks Tom

So you have an E-350. What year, what engine?

Going down the road the engine quit, and won't restart. Does the starter spin? Does the igntiion (Lights etc) come on? Or is everything completely dead and gone?

The starter will not spin and I get no lights on the dash. Checked all the fuses all good. The battery is at 12.7 no headlights no marker lights dead as a door nail. Thanks Tom

Bad battery, cable(s) and/or connections. What is the battery voltage, 12.7 is a bit low to me, when you turn the headlamps on? Measure at the battery terminals, then again with a lead on a good frame or body ground.

I would start by getting a jump; that will for-sure let you know the battery is not the problem.

Then, as RLA suggested, clean both ends of the battery cables.

Check for power at the fuse block. That van have a fusable link?

If you are getting 12.7 is that on the posts of the battery or on the clamps of the cables?
If you have nothing I would pull the cables off the battery and clean the connections as a start.
Could also clean the other end of the cables while at it.

If still nothing then check power from battery cable clamps to grounds & starter relay (solenoid) following the path the power would till you find the open line.
You may need to do the same with the fuse links at the relay to see if 1 of them went bad. One of the links supplies power to the inside to make everything work.
