New batteries??
'17 and it seems like its not cranking over as fast as it used to. Last summer the truck experienced a "crank but no start" issue, went on for weeks intermittently, and each time it wouldn't start, it just cranked away and drawing down the batteries..........so now I'm wondering if this is a result or is three years/35k miles normal? Haven't tested them yet, but I do notice a slower engine crank.

It could be the batteries. It could be resistance in the cables due to corrosion. It could be resistance is building in the starter due to wear. Batteries can be load tested and it a pretty easy and quick test. The cables and starter can be tested with an amp clamp or a shunt. So, batteries first. If they test fine, then test the cables and starter.
