I've never had to physically plug my phone into my truck to get any features to work. Everything happens via bluetooth. 2015 with Sync and MyFord Touch.
I'm currently in the market and wanting to understand some details.
2008-2016 f-250's: Do you HAVE to plug your phone into the Sync port or can you use Bluetooth like in the 2017's-present?
2008-2010 f-250's: is it even possible to install Sirius for the "aux" button on the radio? I know you can do it on the 2011-2016 models.
It is supposed to bluetooth but good luck in getting it to do so. I spent six months with ownerford.com jerks and the ford stealership and no update no NOTHING could get this POS to work. My advice and what I am going to do soon as I can is take the POS! out and smash it with a four pounder! You know, for self gratification. At one point I was able to get mine to connect once in awhile but the volume was so low you could not hear it. You might try ownerford.com and make you an account if you ain't got one yet and download the update. There is an update. It did not help me.
Good luck! Let me know if you get it to work.

I've got a 2012 F250 Lariat Edition and I have never had a problem with my phone connecting via Bluetooth. I have the standard radio with steering wheel connection. I do not have the Myford touch radio.

same truck I have I don't know what is wrong with my POS. I tried to connect it again yesterday it will not connect. I did the update and made it worse.

I have the MyFord Sync2 with Nav system im my 2013 and its never failed to connect to my phone by bluetooth. With that being said it does lock up and I have to reboot it by disconnecting the battery or pulling the fuse but what else would you expect out if something using Microsoft software.
