Troubleshooting fuel pump
Have had problem with truck losing power and quitting earlier as well as having hard starts. It's been sitting for a while to decided to try to fix it again.
I drove it for a short period last week although it was skipping and low on power. (that's for another thread)
Eventually it lost power and quit and would not restart. It was dark so I drained the fuel bowl and tried to crank it over again, no luck. When getting towed back, I put it in gear to start, and it did barely run and had no power until it quit again and batteries were getting weak.
Today, I charged up batteries and tried to start. Got lots of smoke, but never hit. I checked the fuel in the bowl to make sure it did not have oil in it from leaks and it's fine. Drained the fuel bowl again and tried to restart, no change. Checked the fuel bowl and it was empty. Cranked it for a while and it never filled. Can I assume the fuel pump is faulty? If so, who carries a name brand stock replacement?
