The first video is a quick and simple explanation to what? The first video only describes the advantages to a locking front and rear diff, as opposed to open diffs. While that applies to the rear end of many Super Duty trucks, including the Tremor, I did not see any reference to LSD as the Tremor has up front. LSD is not a locking differential, and it also does not have a locking center diff.

...so the Tremor would be like the Honda they are referring to in the third video, not as capable?

I looked up the front diff being talked about on the ford parts website, it uses clutches, I’ll try to find pic.

I got stuck in sugar sand in 2wd with 6.7L Tremor.

Placed it in 4wd Hi and rear diff lock engaged and barely above idle rpm it crawled out.

I then made a rudimentarily test and accelerated hard on thin grass growing on top of the sugar sand, and stopped prior to my rear tires catching up to the front tire tracks. Got out and inspected, all 4 wheel tracks showed signs the tires all spun/engaged. In other words all 4 tires engaged and not 3 out of the 4.

It would be really interesting to see a video of all 4 tires on material handling rollers to verify traction process of the front differential.

I agree an sure someone will test it soon after we have been talking about it.
I emailed TFL about testing the one they have but haven't heard anything back.

That pic, if the same one from the ELD thread, is of a transmission forward gear drum clutch not a differential.

I looked up a vin from a Tremor that was on a lot a while back and the diagram online showed a picture of what appears to be a open front diff with a PN of 4026. When searching for 4026 under the Tremor vin I got no results that fit that truck. So the parts site didn’t help much.
Once my Tremor comes in may have to pop off the dif cover and verify what is in there if it doesn’t get answered before then. With the plant shutdown it could be quite some time though.

Was reviewing the owners manual checking engine oil capacity and came across this. With friction modifier in the Tremor front diff leads me to suspect a clutch type limited slip diff.

It's probably a very weak clutch pack, and relies on traction control for the more demanding off-road situations (based on the modes you select on the cluster).

Ford's clutch-type rear LS units from the 90's through the '00's sucked from the factory...I just imagine a front LS unit being designed weaker. Ford has A LOT of nannies to help stupid people drive...and in the era of sue-happy idiots and money-hungry lawyers...I can't imagine Ford doing something crazy in the front diff.

I’m not sure how it works. But it does seem to work. I pulled a few stumps out this weekend. Spun all 4 tires. I have had trucks in the past that would only spin one tire front and rear doing the same thing

That is great to hear that getting power to all 4.
Would be really nice to have it today pulling the trailer out from the in-laws land. Still have a few months before I get mine, in the meantime will have to put up with the G80 and chains for extra traction. Really miss the Raptor locker and front torsen for this situation, didn’t have to chain up.
