What's wrong with the 3rd light that's already there? I assumed that's what it was,and not meant to be a 3rd running/taillight so i wired it as such.
if you are looking for a high mount for the sake of a high mount (as in to put it on the roof) my go to on any of the rod projects I've been involved with of late has been 95-05 GM S/T Jimmy/ Blazer. Nice flat mounting surface with just ever so little curve, plentiful in wrecking yards, sleek-don't stick out like a sore thumb, and to make them even blend in better the black part of the body can be painted to match your vehicle, and their one piece outer shell is quite tough and will stand up well to abuse, I even replaced the original factory one on my Eurovan Westfalia with one after breaking 3 original VW ones when loading kayaks on the roof and 6 years on, It's still in one piece.
(and yes those are 61-66 Econoline taillight panels grafted in back there)
I went with the Acari bracket, very sturdy, no leaks. The company I work for plowing owns a really nice car wash, I run through it after every snow storm (free). Very happy with setup. I have a Whalen double magnet I put on top.
not sure if I will keep up there during non snow season. I like the clean look.
Hello, This is what i used a led light mounted above the rear doors. I tried the 3rd brake light at the license plate light. I thought when lite it was robbing the looks from the 58 cadillac tail lights. So I opted out of that idea. Will not be the first screw up I did.
Hello, This light has 3 wires, white ground and a black and red wire. One for tail lights and other for brake lights. When you put the turn signal on the whole row blinks. It works for me, guess thats all that counts. The few who seen this liked it. ??????
