I have a 66 F100 that is missing the warranty plate. I need to figure out all the info that needs to go on a repro plate. The VIN # is F10AD 746775. Any help would be appreciated.
It was made in Dallas, TX - the fifth character of the VIN - the D says that much. The DSO would be the sales office. Could assume maybe that that was 61 (also Dallas, TX) but that's purely a guess and one of a few possibilities. Here's what we do know so far. Technically the F100 and 05000 are just guesses, too. Could be a F101 and 04200 MAX. GVW. LBS. but those are not as common.
The 4th character of A indicates a 240 6-cylinder which was 129 net horsepower at the 4,000 RPM. No commas were used on the tag.
That's exactly what I was looking for. It is a SWB and was white originally I think. I think the interior was green. Rear axle is a 9" , 3.73 I think. The tag is still on the axle. Was a 3 on the tree. Do you know the codes for those items? Thanks
No 3.73 in a 9". There was a 3.70. To be accurate on the other items I would need two pictures. One of the truck outside looking at the overall front end and windshield area. And one of the interior seat and dash area. Can you post those on here? Or e-mail them to me?
With those pics I could complete the information. Without it I'd just be guessing more.
Green interior is not a valid choice with a white exterior. Assuming things have not been altered can you tell me what color the steering wheel is, what color the steering column is, what color the glove box door is and does the truck have a round or sweep speedometer?
Steering column was green, wheel was black. Glove box door was white. Had a sweep speedometer.
the seatcover was not original, so that interior could have been changed at some point before I got the truck
Your question reminds me of the 'stinking badges' quote from the film Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
What color interior would a Caribbean Turquoise/Pure or Wimbledon White truck have? Beige or Green.
Since white trucks were available with blue, tan, red and beige interiors, why wouldn't they be available with a green interior?
Just because you haven't seen one, doesn't mean they didn't exist.
I know this is not 100% applicable since this is 1964 - but they did have limitations as to what interior colors were available with which exterior colors for RPO. I could be wrong about 1965/66 - been wrong before and will be again.
If you'd like to guess at this fellas warranty plate feel free. I could guess but I don't care to.
