2019 Stalk question

2019 Stalk question
I started a thread with several questions, but this one seemed to fall through the crack.
I noticed on my truck, no key in ignition, when you push the stalk (headlight ****, shifter, what ever you want to call it) the truck makes a single beep sound. I am not sure what this option does. The head lights turn on and when you repeat the process, the lights turn off.
what feature am I exactly turning on or off by doing this?
