I bought a 93 7.3l IDI about a month ago, I did some regular maintenance that is needed around 100,000 miles including an oil change once I bought it new glow plugs and I’m soon to do the injectors but I just ran into an issue for the first time, the door handle on the interior drivers side became extremely difficult to pull and it sticking in some spots, I got it to where it will open now but it still is making some noise and not opening smoothly, the door panel is loose which may indicate something has been done to it before and I’m assuming that it’s just a cable but I want to be sure before I buy the parts since I’m a broke high schooler lol
OK so your 93 uses the rod not the cable.... both styles are listed on the page I posted...
you can search FleaBay for the parts you need too, post some pictures maybe others will know what you have
LMC seems to indicate some of that stuff is interchangeable too.
oh it came up for a rod for me when I believe I have a cable, I think I’m gonna end up using one I found on amazon for relatively cheap and see what happens, hopefully it’s just the cable thanks for the help
Yup, I’m gonna try throwing some lube in it first if that don’t work then imma buy a new cable and cross my fingers either way it’s a cheap fix thank god
Your driving the wrong vehicle for a broke high schooler but you're only young once lol. Yeah, don't buy anything yet just spray the wd-40 in there from the opening at the latch and keep pulling the handle in and out to see if it just frees up.Probably will. What happens when the cable goes bad is it stretches, then you need to pull on the handle harder than you should. That then leads to either breaking the handle or the too thin sheet metal it's mounted too.In that case, you'll have to pull the door panel off to take a look to see whats up.They might be cheap but those little cables are a PITA to change.Tight spot and you have to stand on your head, look cross eyed and twist in two or three different ways to get the things hooked. You'll be cussing and carrying on and a having a good old time.

Yeah Buddy
And chances are good that other seals are bad allowing weather in to cause more problems than just a cable.
