X-plan is not really all that great of an offer. The average person can buy below X-plan price all day, every day. X-plan is just a "feel good" term to make you think you're getting something special. Like 16_superduty said, find a dealer that will sell to you at or below invoice. When I bought my '17, the dealer laughed at X-plan, then beat it by a mile. I bought below invoice, minus PCO & rebates.
As others have said, it very much depends on the region and how strong a cabal the dealerships have in that area.

I’ve use X-plan 4 times since 2016 to buy 2 ea 2016 F150s and 2 F350s (2017&2019) and recently bought a leftover 2019 F-150 without X-plan.
X-plan price on a diesel SuperDuty is very close to invoice price plus dealer fees are capped at $100. Here in Florida dealers charge anywhere from $599-$999 dealer fees otherwise. The 2019 leftover F150 I bought had MSRP of $42,550 and I bought it for $23,333 with all incentive, dealer discount and $2.5k PCO plus TTL. That dealer charged outrageous $1,100 dealer fees so it came out to $26.8k out the door. That’s the only recent Ford I bought that I was able to beat X-plan out the door price. That’s only because it was old stock and dealer had special holiday tear end money from Ford.
Other that the last F-150, dealers always said they would beat X-plan. When I got the out the door price for their great deal after all BS fees etc I asked then asked for X-plan out the door price and X-plan usually was better. So don’t believe a dealer that says his price beats X-plan. Verify it.

Dealers that will beat X-plan are not very common. I emailed a dozen dealers before buying my truck, and they best any could do was to match invoice (I didn't tell them I had X-plan).
Local dealer I stopped at to test drive one...the salesman noticed my work uniform and asks "So, you work for X?" Yep, sure do. "Well that's great, because you qualify for X-plan pricing which is a great deal!"
Well crap...there goes any hope of haggling!
X-plan is worth it just to skip all the haggling BS anyways...god I hate salesmen!
I would "assume" your PCO expires on 3/31 and would not be valid if your arrives after that. Under no certain terms my dealer said there is NO such thing as a PCO lock!!! Others on this Forum said there dealers did lock in the PCO.....my advice to you is that if your truck is arriving after your PCO expires then get it in writing that your dealer will honor your PCO......my 2 cents.....
Your dealer is 100% wrong, they can be locked if you have one at the time the order is placed.
One can easily call program HQ and they will confirm it.

It doesn't matter what you, or anyone else tells him, he chooses to only believe what his dealer said lol. Hes been told numerous times on here that it can in fact be locked in, but he still spreads the contrary.
Hey FordCal, I know you being from California that reading and comprehension is a hard task for you, so read my thread again.....and try to "comprehend"....All I stated for a fact is to get your lock in writing....can you say DUH!!!!

Why dont you remind us all what the title of your thread was there tough guy.
Here, I'll help you out...
"No such thing as a PCO LOCK!"
And do you, or do you not, believe that a PCO can be locked in?
Wish I could tell you how I got the PCO but I'm not sure.
I kept going to the Ford site and building a truck. I kept asking for brochures. Then my dealer sends me an email with a list of different vehicles and amounts that I have a PCO for.
When I called them back about using it with x-plan that's when they said they would have to check and see if they could.
Called Ford Marketing and asked if in fact I had a PCO. They stated I did but when I asked if I could combine it with the x-plan they stated it was up to the dealer.
Well the next thing my dealer called me and said they will sell me the truck for the x-plan price without using it and give me the PCO and any other rebates.
Why is it if they gave you the truck for free I would still feel like there sticking it to me.🤔
Well I have a signed buyer's order with $3,500 in rebates from December. So if rebates and PCO cant be locked in, I guess the dealer will be discounting truck another $3500 to match the same selling price. I was however told I could NOT combine any new offers unless they exceed the $3,500
I'm starting to shop for a new 350 SRW and what two dealers have shown me as X plan pricing has been disheartening. I am going to have to get into A/Z or D plan territory before I get excited. $4900 under MSRP isn't a deal. It is barely different than the invoice pricing. I definitely need a PCO before I get serious.
What kind of pricing should i be looking for on a new order. The attached isn't it. lol

A/Z/D plan pricing does look good, it would take better than X plan plus a PCO to get you there. Depending on the PCO rebate amount.
Xplan isnt very impressive, I've read on here that in certain states with high dealer fees, it can be advantageous because it limits those fees. If you are not in one of those states, it's generally not difficult to get a better deal without it. Unfortunately right now, public rebates are very low.

I have been shopping price on a F350 7.3 Lariat Tremor with the attached build. The best price I have gotten so far ironically is not from a Ford dealer, but from a local credit union that does car sales. They want to sell it to me at or a bit under invoice cost and their costs for add on items like the extended warranty are much better as well. Not sure how much negotiation they will do, but they will accept PCO or any sale prices as well. Not sure if its the best deal I can make, or if Im happy with it yet, going to go shop again this weekend and see we want to do. Have also been considering (gasp) the Dodge Power Wagon, but the two trucks are in totally different categories so we need to figure out which way to go.
