Butchered ignition switch wiring 2005 e150

So today, I was tracking down an electrical short in the brake lights somewhere because the idiot light for the brake system had been intermittently flashing, but all the lights were working fine. So I removed the panel under the steering column and Immediately found the issue. There was a small brown wire just spliced/wrapped and tied into the brake light switch wiring. The other end just chilling and not connected to anything with the bare end exposed. Well quickly took care of that, but then I noticed a number of other wires going to the steering column were sloppily spliced together and taped up, with another aftermarket wire taped into the headlight switch. I'm guessing this was remnants of an alarm or remote start system that is no longer attached? I've been thinking or adding a remote start to it, so maybe I can incorporate one into a proper wiring repair... Also does anyone have a schematic/pinout for this?
