Melted passenger rear. Guess this could be an issue
I cleaned the female side, melted plastic, tried to clean the male side (the wired connector) and the prong broke off., I have a few on order. Will be here tomorrow.
say for instance that glow plug wasn’t getting power, is it enough to make the system not work right and would it still let my truck start rough? It smokes white blue and stinks every startup bad. No cat or muffler.
Alliant makes valve cover plugs, I have posted the part number before. I think they sell for about $30/ea. Your covers are going to have to come off, at this point just do new ZD11s and keep receipts for all this stuff in the event you ever have to sell the truck. Cockauto at times has Mahle gaskets, I snatched mine on there. The UVCH I bought new from Riffraff. May as well shim the injectors while in there too, unless yours are fresh. I would do valve springs too.
Do not stress, the truck is 25 years old. This is common crap.

what are ZD11s? I just put new motor craft plugs in it. Only thing I haven’t done is the gaskets
ZD11s are the Motorcraft glow plugs. The burned plugs you show will cause the smoke, because the glow plugs are not getting juice to heat them. When replacing the pigtail, cut and solder 1 wire at a time. DO NOT use but connectors to splice the wires, as the connections will corrode over time and you will wind up with the same problem. Doing 1 wire at a time will reduce the chance of getting 2 wires crossed.

ok I appreciate your advice. Thanks I’ll do my best. I never have soldered but I don’t think it’ll be that big of a deal
