This makes sense! Well I guess it’s time to take it in somewhere

Thanks. Sometimes it’s easier to show things visually then explain.

Well I drove it today, did the same thing however when I fired it up after work I got a #5 P0275. I touched the skinny pedal and it smoothed out. Drove the truck home, no issues. I got smoke coming out of the tail pipe on start up but it goes away after a little drive. I'm done driving this thing until I get it fixed. I don't want to cause more damage. I ran the passenger battery to starter cable test when I came home and it was an even crank with no weird jumps or skips.

It’s not a big enough leak to occur unless a long sit time. Do the fender start after overnight, and you’ll probably have the uneven crank.

However, I wouldn’t. Every time you go through this high pressure clearing, you are risking a head gasket. You got a cylinder code, #5. Yank the glow plug on 5 and crank cold to see if you get fuel spit out to confirm the cylinder. Change that injector. Two bills and some time.

Second thought, the problem yanking the GPCM is the risk of little plastic parts falling into the oil pan. It’s not so much of a risk, but it’s more comfortable situation if you pull the valve cover and plug the drains so little parts can’t drop through before pulling the gp harness.

Yeah I don’t wanna blow a head gasket. I don’t really have the time to do this repair myself but I can diagnose it at least (by your suggestion). Should nothing come out of the cylinder when I do the fender crank?

I have not had to crank the engine with a glow plug removed but I think I have read the fuel will be expelled at a high rate. NO body parts near.
