E40d to zf5 swap
I am currently swapping to a zf5 in my 97. 7.3 I just installed the pedals and I’m keeping my current steering column and I put the column in and I noticed after I hooked all the wires back up that when I turn my key on that I get no power at all and it’s like the key switch is not working I don’t have the extra resistance in the switch like your gonna start it it just kinda free flows to the on position and help would be greatly appreciated

So why did you R&R the column? I pulled my pedal box without touching the column.
Sounds like you borked the ignition switch install.
Pretty much impossible to guess what you did without photographs or more information.

I did not have a key to the old column and I’ll get get pics tomorrow I just have to figure out how to get them on here this is my first post lol

I removed the column and swapped on parts from a donor column when I did mine, if I remember correctly. It was a really long time ago, so it's possible that I'm misremembering that. I do agree that it sounds like something went wrong during the switch install.
