Newer wiring harness. Burned spade connector on a 6 position 2 position plow headlight circuit. Didn't throw a fuse, wiring didn't burn, just and only the spade connector burned. ….....What would cause this?????
What they said.
But are you sure the wires are in that good of shape? They look awful rough from here. A bit blurry in the pic of course, and that may just be the type of jacketing on the wire that has the texture on it, but they do look a little ragged.
Could also be oversize fuse for the circuit and this is the weak point that showed the damage first. What size wire is that? Looks to be no more than 14 or 12 gauge, but kind of hard to tell. That should be no more than 15 or 20 amps respectively, but that is a maximum. A good idea in electrical wiring is to size the load at only 75% capacity max, so really only 11.25 & 15 A.
Edit: on second glance- is that the correct size terminal for that wire? I am thinking it is a 12 gauge wire in a terminal for 14-16 gauge. Combine that with high amps and cooked terminal.
