I’m looking to buy tires for my recent purchase it’s a 1967 ford 3/4 ton camper special and ranger package it has 7.50 x 16s and I can’t find any truck tires when I look online I just keep getting tractor tires and I tried a lot of different tire websites and came up empty so any help will help thanks EDIT are my rims split rims I can’t really tell
Those 7.50 tires are very obsolete. If you want the same comparable size, look at a tire size calculator that will give you a metric size used today. P/LT285/R16 for example. Or visit your local tire store.
I had the same thing on my 69 3/4 4x4 Ranger. I measured the height and went to a big tire store and look at all the LT tires just as Rich has said. You can look online for a conversion table, but I just look for Light Truck in 16 inch and most likely will be 10 ply. The width of rims are a factor if you plan on changing so do some homework!
Size is LT265 75R 16. They were on the truck when I bought it, and not my 1st choice for tires. They are economic however and being you just got your truck, I wouldn't break the bank on tires until I checked for other typical issues as things add up (don't know your plans or budget for the truck, just thinking out loud). Your truck sits like mine as well....low in the front due to tired suspension. I am getting the Autofab economy lift for mine this summer since everything needs replaced anyways. The 3" lift will help with the tight clearance with the front tire to the fender. Good luck friend.
What is the GVRW as per the tag on the B pillar inside the door latch area on the driver door? 6900,7500 or 8100? Will you be carrying a load? You have load range "D" on there presently. If you dont plan to load it up make sure you go with a load range "D" 8ply (to 65 psi for air pressure) . Load range E 10 ply(to 80 psi for air pressure) have VERY stiff sidewalls to support the extra weight they can carry. While not carrying a load the truck will ride very STIFF with "E". 10 ply If you intend to carry a to the max GVRW load choose the "E" you just live with the stiff ride when it isnt loaded. You can also try to mitigate the stiffness of the tire by lowering the air they will hold but even at 40 lbs that E will ride firm. 265/75R/16 load range D are the modern size radial tire replacement for that 750x16 load range D bias ply construction tire. Better pictures are needed to see if these are split rim or not. If there is a regular valve stem in the rims now(no tubes present) they are NOT Split rim for sure..... we need pictures of the valve stem area and the face of the rim... It would be good to know how wide the rim is....265/75R/16 (31.65" diameter) are one of the most common size tires sold for a truck today. Rim width specs for 265/75R/16 is 7 inch to 9 inch wide with 8 inch the preferred size You can shop a bunch of manufacturers and decide on quality, tread type and price you want in that size since it is used so commonly. I hope your wheel is wider than the 6.5 width that Ford sometimes used. Summit Racing sells brand new tubeless steel wheels in 16x7 8lug for about $80. each I used them and 265/75R 16 load range E on my truck....even at 40 psi it rides pretty stiff unloaded. To confuse things some...tires from different manufacturers are shorter or taller in the same size....there is a 10% margin allowed in sizing. The less expensive tires typically are on the short size for diameter. (less material to build a shorter tire)....The 265 size is a wider tire than your 750 so it can make that passenger side front low corner be a close fit for clearance.....see my picture of the gold truck.
235/85R 16 will likely also work. They may be bigger in diameter(taller)(31.75") than what you have now and just a tad wider.... 285/75 R 16 load range E tubeless using Dorman steel wheels purchased at Summit Racing an acquaintances truck ..265/75/16 BFG T/A...this brand and tread are a little taller in that size and they JUST clear the fender in the passenger front low front most corner
The first number in the tire size is tread width in mm. The second number is the side height of the tire. The number is the percentage of the tread width. So the higher the first number, the wider the tire. The higher the second number, the higher the sidewall
