I have replaced everything as far as relays and fuses plus checked and cleaned all of the connections but still getting Contact Plate General Circuit Failure.
My 4x4 indicator light does not come on nor does anything happen at the transfer case.
Not sure where to start in this troubleshooting process. I am inclined to think it's time to look at the electronic switch actuator or whatever you call it on the transfer case. Is this where the contact plates are located?
Yeah that's a great idea IF you have a factory workshop manual.
I have been searching the internet for one but so far nothing in my price range. Anyone with a complete set is wanting over $300 for them. Since I just spent money rebuilding the Turbo and replacing the PCM those are out of reach.
There's a post from earlier this year where someone got a shop manual on CD that works with Windows 10. The CD from eBay was less than $30 if memory serves. I'll see if I can find it.

Okay, first I noticed the 30 amp fuse had blown which caused the 4x4 indicator light to come on. Replaced the fuse and the light went out again. After a few minutes I tried turning the switch to 4wd and nothing happened. Then driving down the road a few minutes later the indicator light was back on.
Sure enough the fuse was blown again. So I pulled the motor assembly from the transfer case.
After cleaning it up a bit I tried testing the motor by touching the pins with wires providing 12v and ground. Nothing happened. I reversed the wires and the motor moved ever so slightly. Reversed them again and it started to turn but quit. After that nothing.
I'll order a new motor and report back.

yes, a little costly but worth it, especially if you are DIY stuff like Turbo rebuilds and trouble shooting ESOF gremlins. as noted, a new motor comes with a new contact plate sensor if you dont want to mess with yours
With the popularity of these trucks I am pretty shocked these manuals not in PDF form, free and online by now... That has been the case with nearly every other vehicle I have owned.

This is very true as well. Years ago I downloaded the manufacturer shop manual for our 2008 Subaru Tribeca Limited. It has been a great resource to search through and print what I needed.
