Lights go out
let me start by saying I a bit on the older side, but I live me a F250 truck.
I just bought a 97 F250 4 wheel drive. After driving a few minutes with lights on, complete blackout. Let me say this, it's a bit alarming when at 55_60 mph night time your lights go out. After a min I pulled the light dinner all the way back and lights came on. As long as I held the switch back they stayed on. I don't t think it's alternator because the battery gauge stayed dead center. Did t drop a bit. Any ideas?
Any and all replies will be greatly appreciated.
while I am here, is it normal for the shifter to be extremely tight, as in when shifting from P to drive or reverse let's just say it is not effortless.
On your shifter, I would spray a little wd40 on the linkage above the steering box and on the side of the transmission. If that doesn't make much difference, you must have some dry grease in the steering column itself. You can disconnect the linkage above the steering box and then move the lever to see if it gets better or stays the same. That would also tell you where the problem is.
