1992 Stalling issues?
I have basically a 1992 Frankenstein headache truck that my daughter has put in my lap. It originally had a 5.0 in it and at some point someone swapped it out for an unknown year EFI 5.8. I have since been able to get it running by rebuilding everything from the heads up along with a new fuel pump on the rear tank and and lots of blood and sweat. It doesn't have a working odometer right now and I believe the engine wiring harness if from the 5.0. My problem today is that I can get it to crank up and idle perfect, then when we start to go down the road it stalls, and stutters. I can't get a read on the timing to tell if it is correct or not and if we keep trying to push it it will just die completely. If I wait about 5 minutes it will start back up again and idle great. Any suggestions?

I think if I was planning on living with this truck, I would figure out a way to find the motor build date. Get the serial number...
+1 for a fuel problem. I would check the fuel rail pressure. While this woman sounds like she is in a cave, she knows what your next step should be:
