We have a 2020 F250 (first time Ford owners) and we were wondering if there is somewhere on the dash that you can see the outside air temp when Apple Car Play is active? It seems like you should be able to swap out the directional/compass setting with outside air temp or possibly somewhere else on the dash.

Unfortunately no.
I’m sure Apple will add this feature to CarPlay down the road because Android Auto recently added this feature to their interface.
In order to see the temp, one has to go back to the Ford SYNC 3 screen / stock interface.
They just added the ability to show outside temp on the status bar of Android Auto, though it is not from the outside air temp sensor - it is weather data based on location.

Hey Robbgt, I’m an Apple CarPlay guy and I was wondering if you see much of a difference or any difference at all when you compare the new Android Auto temp compared to the temp sensor on your vehicle and the SYNC 3 temp display.

I think last time I checked they were within a degree or 2. Good enough for me. I'm sure this could vary based on your conditions and the sensor would be more accurate for sudden changes in temp.
