New Transmission
Hey y'all new here. I have an 08 F250 sd. 6.4 my transmission is smoked. I am very confused with trying to get a new one. I bought the truck used it has 10" lift and is suppose to have alot of motor upgrades. Looking for suggestions or recommend where to find new or rebuilt? Stage 1 versus stage 3. Thank you

I am guessing he took the clutches out with the large tires.
One thing I found out the hard way is Ford uses a spin welding process to attach the sun gear to the clutch shells.
The fix is to have them TIG welded to beef them up.

I think you maybe need to talk to a specialist on this. Without knowing truck condition, mileage, the transmission codes and recommendations from your transmission shop, budget, etc, I'm not sure anyone here can advise you. FWIW....If your looking for something beefed up to handle the large tires and increased horsepower, I have seen people on the board reference Brian's Truck Stop for custom transmissions. BTS custom builds transmissions for horsepower and tire size...might be worth giving them a call to see what they think and to give you advice..
