Welcome to the forum! I read the question but didn't notice this was your first post. Show us more pics of your truck, and tell us more about it. What's your story? How did you find it, or did it find you? What are your plans for it? Two things we like here, pictures and stories.
It’s a 54-55 engine I’d guess. it has freeze plugs in the ends of the heads and 56 and newer don’t. And yes originally from a car, which makes me ask, is this really in a truck? I see independent front suspension that looks like really early ford car 53-58. Just wondering
I have a old ford can anyone tell me the year and what engine it came with?

The OP did say "he has an old Ford can" which I think he meant car.
If that's the engine in the truck, either the truck was modified with car suspension, or the truck itself is sitting on a car frame. Notice the car bumper on the front?

And I don't see a steering wheel either. Baker6688 do you know any of the vehicle's history?
