My new 04 F150 has the F150 logo, surrounded by a F150 grille-shaped pattern of dots, included in the windshield laminate. It is directly in front of the inside rear view mirror and extends from the bottom of the mirror to the top of the windshield, and is slightly wider than the mirror.
Does anybody have the story on this? Is it just brand identity or is it there to foil the guys that put their radar detectors up there? (Like me)
Does anyone use a radar detector, mounted on the inside rear view mirror, that is aimed through the logo area? Does the detector read OK through the pattern?
According to Ford.....the black dots and F-150 logo are "strategically placed" to help diffuse and block the sun from coming through the opening that the sun visors don't protect!!!
