I have the dealer installed AC in my ‘77 F250 and was wondering if someone could tell me what this switch is for. One side of the switch runs to the AC pulley (?) and the other to a fuse. Both original ***** beside my glovebox work so I’m wondering what this would be. Thanks for any feedback. Switch AC pulley Fuse OEM *****
I think it will run your battery down. I have a motor mounted pump for my bale bed that basically uses an ac clutch to kick pump on and if I forget it on it kills my batteries

You can't run the ac clutch off of a switch, it needs to run off a thermostat, and preferably have a pressure safety switch as well. The second **** is the thermostat, and there should be a pressure switch in the AC system. Some have a high pressure switch , and some also have a low pressure switch.

The confusing thing to me is this past summer the few times I used the air it seemed to work fine that’s why I was confused about the switch. I know diddly about ac so was hoping I wasn’t hurting the system by not using it.
A lot of people don't understand AC at all, I'm assuming the PO didn't like the fact the compressor was coming on and off so he hot wired a switch to keep it going. If it works now threw the thermostatic switch he didn't do any damage.
