Leak Question

Hey Everyone,

New here. And unfortunately my first post is going to be a question about a leak.

I have a 2013 F150 5.0 w roughly 120k miles.

I was under the truck changing the oil the other day and I noticed:

Initial "research" had me checking a few things, forget what its called but the bulkhead connector toward the back of the transmission (is clean, nothing noticeable there). I took off the little service plate(?) Its clean inside except around the edges.

I wiped everything down and cranked her up and sat under for about 5 mins until I finally saw a little drip coming from between the bell housing and oil pan.

Here basically:

I'm assuming this is likely going to be the main seal? I felt around the coils/cover and everything seems clean/dry..

It seemingly only leaks when the truck is running. I have about a nickel or quarter size spot on the driveway this morning.. The same spot its sat the last couple days tho so I imagine it's just the last of what leaked out while I was looking around/running the truck.

I like to try and fix things on my own.. but if that's it its gonna be beyond my capabilities. The truck has a 6" lift and 35s, if needed I can get under there easily and try and look at another spot if anyone has any suggestions? (Much appreciated).

If I forgot to mention anything important or helpful I do apologize and will get that updated asap.

Thank you!

sometimes gaskets take a SET after a few years. I would check the oil pan bolts and see if they are a little loose. Don't torque them tight, just snug them up. Sometimes 1/2 a turn or so will be enough to reseal the gasket... if it is the pan.

Thanks Steve! I will give that a go and see if it helps. I appreciate the reply.

Interesting, I'll give this a look as well. It may be back in that area (if the diagram I'm looking at is right). Thank you! I'll let yall know what I find out.

I have the same exact year and engine I’m at 100k miles and I’m seeing this same issue. Just got told today it appears to be the main seal!
