Oil leak

The other day I was under my truck running a wire and I noticed the black drip pan between the oil pan and bell housing had a little drip coming from it. I wiped everything all down and today noticed another drip of oil when I touched it. I bought the truck in October and in November I had the rear main seal and pil pan replaced because the oil pan gasket was leaking. Today i pulled down the black drip pan thinking the oil pan was leaking but it seems the oil is dripping down the back of the motor from a plug thats right behind the exhaust manifold and backpressure tube. Anyone have any idea how I could even fix this or any help?

thanks
jr

Most of the time it comes from the valley under the spyder from the EBPV rod and runs down the back of the motor. The plug you show in the picture is a freeze plug, oil would not come from that. Look in the valley, clean the valley out, then look at it in a day or so and see if you see any oil.

theres some "oil rail bolts", that are back/up there, that the o-rings, over time, will let go.

It may be that your turbo pedestal is leaking. When the O ring on the exhaust back pressure valve actuator starts to get hard it will start to leak some oil and then one day will give up the ghost and start dumping oil.
Check your turbo pedestal for oil around it.

They are bolts with a big square head that run front to back on the inside top of each side of the engine. If you had a High Pressure Oil Rail X-over then you would connect the tube between these two holes in the heads.
Hope that helps. Maybe I have a pic....

check to see if you have oil/dirt residue on the EBPV rod that comes out of the back of the turbo pedestal. That is where allot of 7.3L leak from as it is just a fiber seal that degrades over time.

I am tracking hard to see oil leak and so far tracked the oil collected on the passenger side inner head toward the rear. The only thing in this area that has the oil to my knowledge is what is shown the the picture as fitting for the aluminum cross over tubing, what on my engine is sheeted hose.
The air flow takes the oil over the head and runs it down the block on passenger side. It is not making into the valley.
What da heck is that hose/tubing? Oil rail? On my engine the 2 sides don't connect directly . There is something in the middle that I can't see under other stuff in the valley.
