Steering ?
New 04 4wd F-250 6.0 shortbox.I love the whole truck so far.The engine is quiet and pulls like a train.Cant wait to pump the HP a bit, even though you dont need it.This is the first automatic tranny from Ford that I am not dissatisfied with the shifting anymore.I have always had to chip or put in a shift kit to get what I wanted in the past. Not this one,,I'm leaving it alone..It shifts at the right time and with some firmness for a change!! I do how ever have 1 concern, its the same one I had and my 2000 superduty 4wd PSD..The on center feel of the steering is not as good as it should be.Its not as easy to be relaxed as you drive it..Its doesnt quote 'wander" but it doesnt track straight either. To tell you the truth I didnt really notice it till I got back in my 99 250 4wd light duty(150 style). That has a 100,000 miles on it and tracks arrow straight on any kind of road. After a 100 mile stint in the 150 style then climbing back in the super duty it was VERY apparent.Mine is not a FX4 ..would a steering stabilizer help this at all?.I couldnt get it right on my 2000 PSD though.I just got used to it and as long as you dont drive something else you probably wont notice it that much.Food for thought, but I'd still buy 1 again in a second...

Unfortunetly, this seems to be pretty common with most leaf spring straight axle trucks. A stabilizer may help a little, but they are made more for keeping the wheel from getting out of hand when hitting ruts ,etc.
Some say the tires have a lot to do with it, different brands seem better and even getting some mileage on the stock tires seem to help a bit also.
