So I decided to hook my little OTC scan tool to my new to me 17' F350 6.7L today just to see if it could read it and see some live data. Was very interested to see some regen info I didnt know I could access. Truck had just gone through a regen cycle on the trip to town right before this. Nice to know its accessible without messing with forscan to put it on the dash screen, still not sure if I want to mess around with it.
I'm guessing that interval will change with time. I bought it with 65,000 miles on it in two years, I won't be putting anywhere near that many miles on per year. Here's to hoping it stays a long interval though!
depending upon your use and driving habits. Yes the interval will change with each regen. Mine today (I have a 2013) was 652 miles. But ford advertises a mandatory regen at the 500 miles mark for EPA rules.
Biggest thing that effects the emissions is extended idleing or low speed stop and go.
you can get a Bluetooth obdII adapter and stream the data to a tablet running the forscan lite app and see the active and passive regen percent full and status. I monitor about 9 different pids on my tablet and find it very useful. google it and you can see a lot of people are doing it and what pids they prefer.
Yeah I have been looking into getting something like that just to use with my phone since it would be faster than using my scan tool. What do you use for the OBD2 plugin? There are so many options out there I want to go with something I know someone has had good luck with.
